The Blood Tree
- The skills page is now the Blood Tree. Four chains of sockets - Instinct, Teachers, Relics, Rites - showing at a glance what is yours, what you have earned, and what is still closed to you.
- Blood Marks. One for every level from the second, and one for the first kill of each named boss. Levels, teachers, relics and rites now *earn* a skill; a Blood Mark learns it. Nothing is handed over any more, so no two berserkers grow alike.
- Ranks cost Marks, not gold. Rank II asks one Mark and level 5, rank III two Marks and level 10. Your gold stays for the forge, the stash and the priest.
- Oaths. At rank III an active skill swears one of two Oaths that change how it plays - Berserk lasting longer or stunning what it throws, Blood Rush leaving a bleeding path or charging twice, and so on. Forswearing one later costs the priest 250 gold.
- Drag skills onto the bar. Pick a learned skill up out of the tree and drop it on F1-F4. Drop it on a full slot to swap the two, click a slot to clear it. The old F-buttons still work for anyone who would rather not drag.
- Berserk is the one thing never bought: it is the class itself, in hand from the first breath.
New rite: Blood Wind
- Blood Wind. Raise the hand that holds your weapon, roar for more blood, and a wind of blood and dark stone gathers behind you and sweeps to your cursor - tearing everything down a twelve-metre lane and throwing it along with the wind.
- 45 rage, 25 second cooldown. Sworn at the Blood Fields shrine from level 11, after the Rite of the Red Sight.
- Its Oaths at rank III: Stonewrack litters the lane with shards that slow everything caught, or Red Gale sends the wind through a second time at half strength.
World
- Walls the camera cuts away no longer take the floor with them, so the ground under your hero stays solid.
- The Broken Fortress depths were rebuilt on their own surfaces and textures.
Known Issues
- Heroes are still bald in character creation; hair is on its way.
- The hero's walk and run animations are being remade, and one-handed weapons still swing with the two-handed set.
- The Wolves at the Door conversation still mentions pelts in the spoken lines.
- Blood Wind has no voice line yet: the roar is there, the words are not.
